Episode 38: No Bill 94 – Kingston Panel Discussion
May 4, 2010

In early 2010, the Jean Charest government proposed legislation which, if approved by the National Assembly of Quebec, would deny essential government services, public employment, educational opportunities, and health care to people who wear facial coverings.

This week, radio613 airs audio from a panel discussion held in Kingston on April 27, 2010 exploring Bill 94 from legal, feminist, and religious perspectives. Featured speakers include: Dr. Mona Rahman – Active member of the Islamic Society of Kingston;  Dr. Beverly Baines – Gender Studies Department Head & Professor of Law, Queen’s University; Dr. Dana Olwan – Assistant Professor, Gender Studies, Queen’s University.
